The most common question teachers ask me year after year is, “How on earth do you get children to edit their writing?” In the past, my typical response has been to mumble something along the lines of, “Editing is hard.” Well, this year I’ve resolved to do better: in this session, we’ll look at the types of editing, realistic expectations for students (and their teachers) and, of course, practical ideas based on best practices.
