Leading Effective PLCs: Working Smarter Together to Support Student Learning

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
As we emerge from an extended period of time working in isolation, teachers are being called to to reconnect and recalibrate as we adjust to a new paradigm of education.  Additionally, teachers are being called to implement new curriculum, respond to new ministry directives, and contend with the impacts of the pandemic on student growth and learning.  The research is clear: The most effective way for teachers to answer these calls is to work together effectively and productively in strong professional learning communities.  To cultivate successful PLCs across schools or systems, leaders need to set flexible yet structured frameworks while also equipping teachers with the skills and competencies related to effective participation

This session will explore high-impact skills, strategies, and frameworks related to leading and participating in productive and effective professional learning communities. Participants will hear about a framework that has been used successfully in practice. As well, they will learn tips and tricks that will help them to work smarter together rather than harder in isolation. Participants will walk away with a vision of how to lead effective PLCs that maximize the collective superpowers of teachers to contend with the ever-changing demands of the profession.

The intended audience of this session is formal or informal teacher leaders or any teacher interested in maximizing their PLCs.
